Starving Saturday

Bombay: Food! I need food!
Daddy: Don't even think about it. I just fed you.
Bombay: But Dad, that was 10 minutes ago. 10! I never get fed enough. Never!

Wrestle Mania -- Bangles vs Bombay

I just want purrove to efurrybody with these pikshurs that I am NOT an inactive cat.

I haf energy!
I haf zest!
I haf power!
I haf dash!
Rrrwwwoooaaaarrrrwwww!

Bombay demonstrates 4 professional moves:

The back somersault slam with a hind leg kick

The Defensive Butt Wiggle

The Death Grip on your opponent's neck

My beans claim that Bangles is the better wrestler because he is always on top of me. That is not true! What they do not see wif their hooman eyes is my use of pyschological warfare.

Furst I make Bangles fink he has the upperhand... that he is winning, then... I STRIKE!

Losing my beauty sleep

Look at me!

I'm so sleepy! I haven't been getting enough sleep.

Why?

All thanks to my stoopid brofur, that's why! He sleeps funny and it is keeping me awake. Let me show you what he does.

Okay, here I am sleeping all comfily and minding my own business.

Then Bangles comes along and see what he does...

He plonks his big head right on my bum!

It makes me feel furry uncomfy and I wake up. See how my tired left eye is half-opened!

And if that isn't bad enough. Bangles will move his head and tuck it right under my thigh. How is a cat expected to get any sleep like that?!

And the position that takes the cake...

I don't efen know what he is trying to do with his paws under my chin! Giving me a chin-tuck?

I'm a growing boy and I need my sleep. It's time I had my own room!

Thursday Thirteen -- Animals rule the nebulas!

Fur today's Thursday Thirteen, I would like to share wif all of you thirteen animal-shaped nebulas.

In case you are wondering what a nebula is, you can fink of it as a nursery fur baby stars. These stellar nurseries are furry beeoooteeful to look at. And they come in all sorts of colours and shapes.

(Some of the pikshurs are a little hard to figure out so you might haf to squint a little, frown a little, maybe efen pull your eyes into funny shapes.)

Let's start off wif my purrsonal favourite...

1) The Cat's Eye Nebula

2) The Owl Nebula

3) The Crab Nebula

4) The Horsehead Nebula

5) The Snake Nebula

6) The Ant Nebula

7) The Black Widow Nebula

8) The Butterfly Nebula

9) The Eagle Nebula

10) The Lion's Head Nebula

11) The Tarantula Nebula

12) The Seagull Nebula

13) The Stingray Nebula

And here are two more nebulas that I want to show you. The furst is the scariest, the spookiest, the absolute creepiest! It is...

The Witch's Head Nebula

Scary, huh?!

But I haf saved the purrtiest nebula fur the last. It is also the most romantic. So I would like to dedicate it to my purrty Bonnie. I present to you now...

The Rose Nebula

Do visit the NASA website if you are interested to learn more about nebulas. There are so many others! There is one that looks remarkably like a blue fairy and another that is heart-shaped. There is even a Rotten Egg Nebula. Eeeeyucks!

Toesy

Everybody, please meet Toesy.

Handsome, photogenic and frankly, quite the charmer

Isn't he handsome?

Toesy is one of the seven community cats who live under my block. And he is my favourite.

"When will I get paid for all these photo sessions? Payment may be made in kibble."

Toesy is about 3 years old and he has set up house under a row of bushes near my house. Whenever I walk by those bushes, I make it a point to say hello to my ginger friend and give him some of those scritchies that he loves so much.

King of his domain

Having lived on the streets all his life, Toesy is understandably very skittish around people. He doesn't like children and he especially hates loud and sudden noises.

But once he becomes familiar and comfortable with you, man... oh man... Toesy transforms into one of the most affectionate cats you'll ever meet.

"Looking this good isn't easy work. Thank goodness I'm very bendy!"

And that really is how Toesy got his name. He shows his affection for you by lovingly licking your toes. Sometimes he'll give you a playful, ticklish nibble, but it's always very gentle. And not once has Toesy scratched me, not even by accident. He is always careful to sheathe his claws around me, and I feel that that is one of the greatest expressions of love by a cat.

The Kneader/The Masseuse/ The Maker of many Biscuits

I've noticed that Toesy is a kneader. He doesn't just knead with his paws when I'm scratching him, he kneads even when no one is touching him. He is such a kneady cat!

Toesy the Belly-Flopper

Another thing I love about Toesy is how very gentlemanly he is. He walks me to my elevator every time we meet, almost as though he was a guard-cat making sure that I got home safe.

"Sun's up! Time for my afternoon snooze. So if you'll 'scuse me please..."

I often wonder if Toesy would be happier coming back home to live with me or if he stayed on where he is and live as he always have -- a wanderer free to roam as he pleases.

"One last scritchie before you go PLEASE?"

I will miss him greatly when I leave for Auz. I do hope that when I return in six years' time, Toesy will still be the same -- furry, orangey, very licky and always kneady.

Here is a short video clip of my beloved Toesy. I managed to capture a wee bit of those kneading paws. Enjoy!
